Who makes Friends Camera
Last reviewed 13 October 2026
Friends Camera is a hobby project that I am slowly turning into a small side business next to my job. I run it under the trade name Craftoz, from the United Arab Emirates. It is built and run by one person, so there is no big team behind it.
How it started
I have always loved building things with code. I made this app for my own wedding, and before the wedding I tried it at a couple of other events. Guests scanned a QR code, shot with their own phones, and every photo landed in one private album. It worked well, so I decided to polish it and see whether it could earn a little income.
It is not a unique idea, and there are plenty of similar apps. I am doing this mostly to learn: how to build a real product, how to run it, and how to tell people about it. If you have feedback, I would genuinely like to hear it.
What I promise
- Photos go into the host’s private album. No ads, no tracking cookies, and I never sell or use photos to train AI.
- Hosts and guests can delete photos at any time, and deleted means permanently deleted.
- You pay once per event, with taxes included. Payments are handled by Polar, so I never see card details.
Details are in the privacy policy and terms of service, including refunds.
