Terms of service
Last updated 4 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Craftoz (“we”, “us”) for using Friends Camera (the “Service”). By creating an account, joining an event as a guest, or buying a plan, you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Friends Camera lets a host create an event with its own QR code and link. Guests who open it can take a limited number of photos with their phone, which are collected in the host’s private album.
2. Who may use it
- Hosts must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
- Guests must be at least 13 years old to use the guest camera.
- If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.
3. Accounts
- Give accurate details and a real email address — it is the only way to reset your password.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity in your account.
- Tell us promptly at contact@craftoz.com if you think your account has been misused.
4. Free trial
New accounts get a free trial of 30 days for one event with up to 15 guests and up to 30 shots per guest. When the trial ends, guests can no longer add photos; the host can still download the photos for 30 days, after which they are permanently deleted. We may change or end the free trial for new sign-ups at any time.
5. Paid plans and payments
- Paid plans are one-time purchases for one event, priced by the number of guests. They are not subscriptions and do not renew automatically.
- A paid plan keeps the event camera open and the photos stored for 12 months from the date of payment, followed by 30 days to download before deletion.
- Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and Merchant of Record, which sells the plan to you and handles payment, tax, invoices and refunds. Lemon Squeezy’s own terms also apply to your purchase.
- Prices include any applicable sales tax or VAT. The final amount is shown before you pay.
- We may change prices for future purchases; this never affects a plan you have already bought.
6. Refunds
Because a plan gives immediate access to a digital service, purchases are non-refundable once your event has been used, except where the law requires otherwise. We will refund in full if you ask within 14 days of purchase and no guest has joined your event since the purchase. To ask for a refund, email contact@craftoz.com or contact Lemon Squeezy using your receipt. If a refund is given, the plan ends and the account returns to free-trial limits. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer law of your country.
7. Your content
- You keep all rights in the photos and other content you upload (“Content”). We claim no ownership.
- You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and display Content only as needed to provide, secure and improve the Service for you. This licence ends when the Content is deleted, except for copies kept briefly in routine backups.
- We do not use Content for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to train AI models.
- Guests: by taking a photo with an event camera, you share it with that event’s host and allow the host to keep, download and use it for personal purposes connected with the event.
8. Host responsibilities
- You decide to run the event and whom to invite. For the names and photos collected, you are the data controller and are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use them.
- Let guests know that photos are shared with you, respect anyone who does not want to be photographed, and obtain any permissions you need — including from parents for children.
- Use event photos lawfully and keep your event link to the people you want to invite.
- Keep your own copy of the photos; the Service is not a long-term archive.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- upload anything illegal, including any sexual content involving minors;
- upload sexual content of anyone without their consent, or content that harasses or threatens;
- infringe anyone’s copyright, privacy or other rights;
- distribute malware, or attempt to break, overload, scrape or get around the limits of the Service;
- resell the Service or use it as general file storage.
We may remove content, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, without refund, and will report illegal content to the authorities where required.
10. Reporting content and copyright
To report content you believe is illegal, infringes your rights or shows you without consent, email contact@craftoz.com with the event link (if you have it), a description of the content, why it should be removed, and your contact details. We review reports promptly and may remove content while we look into it. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (such as hosting, storage, email and payment providers). We are not responsible for their services beyond what the law requires, but we choose them carefully and bind them to protect your data.
12. Availability and changes to the Service
We work hard to keep the Service running, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free or that every photo will upload — phones, browsers and connections vary. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we close the Service, we will give hosts reasonable notice to download their photos.
13. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, photos or goodwill; and (b) our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Indemnity
You agree to defend and compensate us against claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your event, your breach of these terms, or your violation of anyone else’s rights or of the law.
16. Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard; this erases everything immediately. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as content licences until deletion, disclaimers, limits of liability and indemnity) continue after your use ends.
17. Disputes and governing law
Please contact us first — most problems can be solved quickly by email. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction, unless the mandatory consumer law of your country gives you the right to bring claims where you live. To the extent permitted by law, claims must be brought individually, not as part of a class or representative action.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For meaningful changes we will tell hosts in advance by email or in the dashboard. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.
19. General
These terms, with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or sale of the Service. The English version of these terms is the binding one.
